Time to dust off the old blog with a new destination you have to try! This past weekend we took a drive to Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark in New York’s largest indoor waterpark in Monticello, NY (about an hour and 20 minutes from Northern New Jersey) to celebrate my baby boy’s 11th birthday! The kids are adrenaline junkies and love visiting waterparks whether they are indoor or outdoor. We reserved our stay and this post is not sponsored – just want to share a fun place for you to escape the everyday craziness and make memories with your family.
why we loved kartritE RESORT
The resort is not huge. There is plenty to do but it’s not overwhelming which I think is great for families especially with younger kids. The resort features an indoor waterpark, arcade, daily activities and outdoor fire pits where you can cozy up. You can even bring your own supplies to make s’mores! You can reserve an overnight stay as well as buy day passes but I do have to say buying day passes($75/day per person) comes out to almost the same amount as staying overnight depending on the size of your family. When you reserve an overnight stay you also get 4 waterpark passes with your reservation. We were able to go to the water park both days, so you do the math.
I reserved the Family King Bunk Suite which was very spacious and included a king size bed, 4 bunk beds and a pull out sofa bed. Check out my room tour here. Groupon had a great deal and I was able to reserve for $304/night which included our waterpark tickets for both days – amazing price if you ask me.
Everything you might possibly need is on sight from restaurants, ice cream, axe throwing, paint & sip, and even goat yoga! You can find their calendar and list of entertainment and activities here. You’re able to grab lunch easily inside the waterpark at the Surfside Grille and enjoy table side or rent a cabana for more privacy. You’re able to rent a private cabana for an extra cost ($139.99) which includes sodas, chips and HD TV’s (birthday packages available also). The kids enjoyed the arcade before dinner and then we headed outside.
After a fun day in the water, we enjoyed the fire pits and outdoor movie they had playing while the kids played in the outdoor jungle gym and then we had dinner at Harvey’s Wallbanger for some bar food and drinks. It was easy, low maintenance and definitely a great time while watching the Colombia vs. Argentina game.
If you’re looking to escape the heat or just take your kids somewhere new and fun to escape the routine of everyday, definitely check out Kartrite Resort!
